THE MATCHGIRLS : 18th - 22nd November 2008
Rehearsals are well underway for the next RLOS production. The Matchgirls will be performed at the Radlett Centre in the November.
Based on fact, the story tells of a strike by the girls in the Bryant and May match factory in 1888, when unions were still groping for recognition and mass withdrawal of labour was an almost unheard of strategy in industrial relations. A tender and heartwarming story of love, life and pigeons.
RLOS' spring production, a brand new adaptation of Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience re-set in the 1960's was very well received. This production was named as Runners-Up for the "Dorothy Lawson award for the best Gilbert and Sullivan in the NoDA London region"
RLOS also performed during the Saturday night concert as part of the Radlett Festival in June.
